2 Weeks Away From The Rumble (Rumble Prediction)

With weeks flying by, the long anticipated 25th Anniversary of the Royal Rumble Is just around the corner. We’ve got two matches already on the card: One for the WWE title and one from the returning big red machine himself… Kane !. But let’s not forget the main focal of the rumble, the match itself. With countless superstars saying it’s their year to bask in glory. My pick hasn’t really been made up, I’m not the best with predictions, I can cash in the chips easy depending on the predictability of the PPV itself. But this year it seems to be a start of something new. WWE has become a little edgier lately and not only with it’s rating, with the predictability. Who would of guessed the runner up on the 4th season of NXT Brodus Clay would be Funkasaurus. And who would of guessed Daniel Bryan would be our new WH Champion. As of lately WWE seems to be taking a turn with their product & so far they’re hitting home runs.

At first I was quite certain my pick for this year’s RR would be Wade Barrett, I’ve always been a fan and admired his work in the ring & on the mic. The man paints a future WH champion, It’s as clear as day to see it. But now with the return of Jericho & the absence of Orton. I’ve gave this a long hard thought. I’ve first looked at my first choice: Wade Barrett, is he capable of pulling off a win.. too easy. Will WWE give him the ball to run with ? I hate to say no. As much as I believe in Barrett, I don’t think WWE would want to test the waters after seeing how their experiment with Del Rio went. But the Royal Rumble in my opinion is the fuel to the fire of a rising talent being showcased on a mainevent status. It’s hard to tell what will come out of this Rumble.

News sources online speculate that Orton will be taking home the win in his hometown. That’s right this year’s rumble will be in St Louisville, but that’s an easy guess which isn’t always the case. The last thing I want to see is history repeat itself (2009). I do see him competing at this year’s Rumble but seeing him get the victory is a blur in my mind. Moving onto my second Rumble pick which is slowly climbing it’s way to be my primary pick. Chris Jericho, In my opinion is a genius. He took time off, made quite a silent return and is now just in time for this year’s Royal Rumble.

Majority of wrestling related news sources online indicate that Jericho will be going up against CM Punk at this year’s Mania. My initial thought was who better to face Punk at his first WrestleMania where he means something. Regardless of this not even happening yet, I can see this shaping up to be one hell of a feud. The rivalry writes itself, I literally could brainstorm this feud because the ideas are endless. So Punk vs Jericho at WM28 how does one orchestrate such a feud. By planting the seeds first, and IMO opinion the Rumble would be just the PPV to plant those seeds.

Now that Jericho has returned, with his bizarre fan interaction and leaving without saying a word. Could the Rumble be where he finally speaks to the WWE Universe. Could those be words of hate to the crowd which could lead to hateful words to Punk. I absolutely positively think so, here’s how I see this year’s Rumble transpiring right before my eyes. Jericho enters the arena as entrant number 20 and immediately tears that ring to shreds. I’m talking Stone Cold Steve Austin in the 98 Royal Rumble when he walked into that ring full of competitors and tossed each competitor out one by one. Then the mic is handed to him and he says something on the lines that relates to Punk, like ..”Best In The World ?” and drops the mic and leaves. In my opinion that’s the best way to end the Rumble & plant a huge seed for Wrestlemania 28

This year’s Mania can shape up to be one of the best they’ve had in years. This could be the real start to 2012 where wrestling could take a turn for the better. If this rumble turns out the way I would orchestrate it. Then this could have a huge impact on Mania. Not only will we have Rock vs Cena, we’d have Jericho vs Punk. This match could have potential to be the Steamboat vs Savage (WM 3) of Wrestlemania 28.
