Was Punk’s Return Too Soon ?
It was quite unexpecting actually. When he said he was gone I thought he was legit serious, but after the comic con incident and when he showed up at an indy show. I was sure Punk was going to return. Then comes Raw Cena wins his 9th WWE title and cue “Cult of Personality - Living Colour” and Punk makes his way down the ramp. At the point I wasn’t dissapointed because I’m a huge mark for C.M Punk ever since his straight edge gimmick on Smackdown. I just thought it was a little too soon ?. Regardless of the fact that he draws money, ratings and makes Raw worth watching. I thought WWE could at least have him gone for maybe a week or 2 and then show up following more apperance at indy shows etc. But if you think about It, It pans out well because SummerSlam is a block away and the mainevent is obviously Cena vs Punk. This match would probably not have a better buildup then their match at MITB, but I might be wrong. The creative team seems to be on a roll as of lately. And dropping the ball on Punk is probably the last thing they’ll do. About his theme music, well I actually liked it It had a fresh feeling to it. And the theme song fits well with Punk’s character it’s also a drifts him apart from the New Nexus. Oh and quick fact: Cult of Personality was the song played in Stone Cold Steve Austin’s HOF Induction video… Concidence ? I think not.
